Samuel Schlosser

Principal Trombone

Samuel Schlosser joined the San Francisco Opera Orchestra as Principal Trombone in 2013. Before coming to San Francisco, he was a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and prior to that, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He has also appeared with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Opera and the New York Philharmonic.

An avid teacher, he has given masterclasses at the Mannes College New School for Music in New York and at the Jacob's School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Samuel received his formal training from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he was a student of Nitzan Haroz, Principal Trombone of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
